In 1990 Max illustrated his first-ever comic book, "Journey to Bilovar", a surrealistic and psychedelic exploration around the theme of adventure. From 1990 to 1991 he drew a storyboard for an experimental science fiction movie, which had never been realized. In the latter half of 1991 joined the Roman Mod-60s Scene, starting to contribute to "Stardate" mod-zine and - in the mean time - producing a great quantity of graphics and illustrations for the Roman beat band "Cellophane Flowers" and for other 60s-related local bands and clubs.
